The Mill Hill Finches were founded by Middlesex Women’s Anisha Dissanayake in 2024 for girls of all abilities in partnership with Mill Hill Village CC and Finchley CC.
A large part of Anisha’ s dream when she created the Finches, was to get girls involved and loving cricket from an early age. As most of the girls are quite young (8-12 years old), Anisha wanted to have the girls involved in the creation of their kit. Lacuna Sports organised a Design Workshop, where all the girls were encouraged to be as creative as possible in designing their favourite top, using life-sized top templates. They had completely free rein with colours / designs / patterns and motifs. Our Graphic Designer then digitised the artwork during the workshop to produce several versions of the tops, with elements from all the children’s ideas as well as the club logos.
The final designs were presented to Anisha, the coaches and the girls and a favourite was chosen. The girls and coaches are now proudly wearing their top, in club colours, with club logos and an amalgamation of inspiration and ideas from the team.
