Lacuna named Official Kit Provider for the Lord’s Taverners Women’s XI

Lacuna has been named Official Kit Provider for the inaugural Lord’s Taverners Women’s XI, supplying match tops for their first fixture against MCC Women’s XI at Highgate Cricket Club on Monday 7th September. The partnership champions grassroots access to cricket for women and girls, tackling the barriers that kit itself can create.

We’re incredibly proud to announce a new partnership with Lord’s Taverners, one of the UK’s leading youth cricket and disability sport charities.

A New Partnership for Women’s Cricket

As part of this exciting partnership, Lacuna has been named the Official Lord’s Taverners Women’s XI Kit Provider, supplying match tops for the inaugural Lord’s Taverners Women’s XI match.

The team will take to the field for the first time on Monday 7th September, when they face the MCC Women’s XI at Highgate Cricket Club in North London. The celebratory fixture will bring together players from across the game, from elite cricketers to young women who have progressed through Lord’s Taverners programmes, celebrating both the heritage and future of women’s cricket.

Supporting Lord’s Taverners’ Mission

Lord’s Taverners’ mission is to unlock potential through cricket, creating opportunities for young people with disabilities and those facing socio-economic disadvantage. With growing participation among women and girls at the heart of their strategy, we’re proud to support that ambition through this partnership.

Together with Lord’s Taverners, we’ll work to reduce barriers to participation, raise awareness of the challenges women and girls continue to face in cricket, and champion positive change across the game.

Why Kit Matters

At Lacuna, we know kit can be a barrier. Poor fit, discomfort and a lack of consideration for the needs of women and girls can impact confidence, enjoyment and ultimately whether someone feels cricket is a game for them.

That’s why every Lacuna garment is designed specifically for women and girls. From fit and functionality to addressing cultural and practical needs, our mission is to ensure players can focus on their game, not their kit. By creating teamwear that helps players feel comfortable, confident and supported, we’re helping remove barriers and create environments where more women and girls can thrive in cricket.

Through this partnership, we’re proud to help ensure more players have access not only to opportunities in the game, but to kit designed with them in mind.

Leigh Burns, Founder of Lacuna Sports, said:

“We’re incredibly proud to partner with Lord’s Taverners. Together, we’re united by a belief that every young person should have the opportunity to experience the positive impact of cricket. We know that kit can be a barrier, particularly for women and girls, which is why creating clothing that helps players feel confident, comfortable and like they belong in the game is at the heart of everything we do. If we can help more girls step onto the pitch and stay in the game, that’s a partnership we’re proud to be part of.”

See You at Highgate

We’ll be at Highgate Cricket Club on Monday 7th September, so if you’re joining us for the match, come and say hello. We’ll also be selling our coveted ‘This is Women’s Cricket‘ supporter tees throughout the day.

For one day only, 10% of all This is Women’s Cricket tee sales at the match will be donated directly to Lord’s Taverners to support their fantastic work helping young people unlock their potential through cricket.
