Last summer, we were part of the inaugural APEX Cricket Festival at Millfield School; an event built around a belief that young cricketers thrive when brought together through competition, learning and a genuine love of the game.
As the festival’s official female kit partner, we designed, produced and fitted kit for the girls competing, for female coaches and for festival ambassadors, including cricket legend Ebony Rainford-Brent MBE.
Seeing players come together, build new friendships and create lasting memories through cricket was everything we love about the game. That’s why we’re so excited to be back for APEX 2026.
From 28th June to 1st July, Lacuna is back as the official female kit partner of the APEX Cricket Festival. With the Women’s T20 World Cup firing up imaginations across the globe right now, this year’s festival promises to be another fantastic celebration of girls’ cricket.
For anyone coming to APEX for the first time, it’s worth knowing what to expect. This isn’t just a tournament. It’s a place where young cricketers test themselves on the field and build confidence that travels with them long after the final ball. The festival centres on participation, team spirit and creating real opportunity for girls to play, and that’s exactly what drew us to it.
Our role within that is straightforward: help every player feel comfortable, confident and ready to perform in kit designed specifically for them.
Leigh Burns, Lacuna’s founder, puts it well:
“Being involved in the inaugural APEX Cricket Festival last year was a brilliant experience. What stood out was the atmosphere. You could see team bonding at its best and young players making the most of opportunities they might never have otherwise experienced.
As a brand built entirely around female cricketers, we’re passionate about ensuring girls have access to kit designed specifically for them. To be trusted to support the girls’ programme at APEX is something we’re incredibly proud of, and we can’t wait to see another brilliant group of players take to the field this summer.”
Max Rusling, Founder of the APEX Cricket Festival, adds:
“We’re delighted to continue working with Lacuna. They share our commitment to creating the best possible experience for young female cricketers. Having apparel designed specifically for girls is incredibly important, and we’re excited to continue building that relationship as the festival grows.”
The Lacuna team will be on site throughout the festival, so please do come and say hello. Whether you want to talk teamwear, try on the bespoke APEX tops, pick up the festival shorts (the design chosen by you, by the way) or get your hands on one of the limited-edition This Is Women’s Cricket tees, we would love to meet you.
Follow along at @lacunasportsuk on Instagram throughout the festival for behind-the-scenes moments, player stories and plenty of action from around the grounds.
See you at APEX.
