It’s a fair question. For a lot of teams, kit has always arrived in a box in whatever sizes went on the order form. Players then make the best of it. I play club cricket myself, so I know that feeling well. A Lacuna fitting is our way of doing things differently. We come to you, we bring the kit and every player gets to find what works for them before anything goes into production.
I recorded a short video during a recent fitting and here’s a little more detail on how the day runs.
Good To Know Before We Arrive
Your fitting is free. There’s currently no minimum team size, so it doesn’t matter whether you’re a full senior squad or a small junior section just getting started. We travel all over the UK. A fitting usually takes an hour or two, depending on how many players are trying on and how much you’d like to talk through potential designs.
We Bring The Kit To You
We arrive with sample kit in sizes 4 to 26, so juniors and seniors can try things on side by side. The rail covers match tops, t-shirts, shorts, half zips, hoodies, leggings and trousers, so every part of your kit is in one place.
Having the full range in the room makes a huge difference. Sizing varies from brand to brand and a chart can only tell you so much. Trying on the real thing is the quickest way to know.
Try Everything On
This is my favourite part of the day. We encourage every player to try on every style, including the ones they’re unsure about. Kit you’ve chosen for yourself, after trying it on, is kit you love and feel confident in. That confidence is what lets you focus on your game, not your kit.
Your Coaches Can Match Too
We also offer matching kit for coaches, so everyone involved on matchday looks part of the same team. Our bespoke personalisation has no minimums, so it’s simple to personalise coaching staff pieces too.
Every Detail Recorded
Once the try-on is complete, we record each player’s style, size and personalisation details. You won’t have to chase forms afterwards and there’s no guesswork when the order comes together.
Let’s Talk Design And Colour
Some clubs know exactly what they want. Others would like a refreshed look but aren’t sure where to start. Some want to match the current club kit or men’s kit. Others want a completely bold, new identity. All are welcome.
We use a colour chart to match your existing club colours, so your new kit sits comfortably alongside everything else you wear. If you’re ready for something different, we’ll help you build a fresh colour palette. We also bring examples of kit we’ve made for other clubs, which often sparks ideas you hadn’t thought of.
What Happens Next
After the fitting, our in-house designers start work on your kit and share several concept designs for you to review. We fine-tune it with you and send it to our manufacturer. Everything is printed using nano technology, so your colours won’t peel or fade. Then your kit arrives, designed and fitted for the whole team, and personally hand delivered by Lacuna to your club.
